The exciting Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon once again will be raced and enjoyed by thousands this weekend in downtown San Jose.  The festivities begin early on Friday at the Convention Center with a FREE Health and Fitness expo that features the latest health and nutrition information products, running apparel and footwear.  On Sunday morning, more than 13,000 runners and walkers are expected to ‘rock’ through the streets of San Jose.  Head to Plaza de Cesar Chavez after the race (noon) for a FREE concert featuring Grammy award winning artist and guitarist Jonny Lang. It’s SJSU Student Appreciation Day at the Downtown Farmers’ Market in San Pedro Square - Friday through Dec 12

SJSU students are celebrants at the market this Friday during SJSU Student Appreciation Day.  Students flashing their SJSU student ID at the market information table receive $5 in Carrot Cash, which can be used like real money at the market to purchase freshly cut flowers, fruits, vegetables and more. (Limit one visit/per student ID to the info table, valid Oct. 2 only). Everyone else can also pick the freshest produce, enjoy live music by local artists and grab lunch from one of the many tasty restaurants located in San Pedro Square.  Help save the planet and bring your own bag. 10 am- 2 pm Friday.  San Pedro Square, between Santa Clara and St. John streets. South First Fridays gallery crawl – Free and open to the public this Friday
Explore the SoFA district, downtown’s hub of art and creativity, this first Friday of the month.  Meet people and appreciate art in an inviting environment.
